Offer description

We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow interested in immunometabolism and metabolic control of inflammatory diseases in particular psoriasis and colitis. This project aims to decipher the molecular links between dendritic cell migration, intracellular metabolism and the development of psoriasis and colitis using in vitro cellular models,  preclinical mouse models and human cohorts, combined with interdisciplinary state-of-the art approaches (high dimensional flow and mass cytometry, Single cell-RNA-seq, Metabolomics and bioinformatic analysis).

The candidate will join our team within the research laboratory INSERM UMR1011 located in Lille (France) and directed by Pr. Bart Staels. Our research unit is part of the “Laboratory of Excellence” European Genomic Institute of Diabetes (EGID, http://www.egid.fr), INSERM, Institut Pasteur de Lille, CHU de Lille and Lille University, and attracts students from around the world by offering high-level training in biomedical sciences. The unit develops multidisciplinary research at the interface of physiology, cell biology, biochemistry and medicine using cutting-edge, innovative technologies.

The successful post-doctoral fellow will work directly with Dr. David Dombrowicz, and interact with other scientists, national and international collaborators, post-doctoral fellows, bioinformaticians, PhD students and technicians. We offer a 1-year contract (renewable for at least 1 additional year) starting October 2022 or later upon agreement. We also encourage and would support candidates’ applications for supplementary funding (Marie Curie, EMBO, FRM….). Remuneration and benefits will be based on the salary scale for public-sector employees considering previous experience.

Applicant profile:

- Required: PhD with a strong background in immunology, inflammation, metabolism and/or skin biology.

Background in bioinformatic analysis would be a strong additional asset

- Good experience with animal experimentation

Authorization for animal experimentation FELASA at least B level, preferably C level would be highly appreciated.

- Mastery of basic techniques in cell and molecular biology.

- Fluent in English with good written and oral communication skills
